Android 4.4.4 KitKat update now rolling out for Sony Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet Z; Xperia M, C, L and SP to stay on Jelly Bean

Sony has started rolling out the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for slew of its Xperia Z series smartphones along with the Xperia Tablet Z. The update is rolling out for Sony Xperia Z, Xperia ZL and Xperia ZR smartphones. The 4.4.2 KitKat update for the above mentioned devices was rolled out back in May. As always, the update is rolling out over-the-air and also via Sony PC companion.

Android 4.4.2 KitKat update now rolling out for Sony Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z

Sony has started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for its last year Xperia line-up devices. As promised last month, the KitKat update is now rolling out for Sony Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z in select markets. The update is rolling out in batches, so it might take few weeks to reach other countries.

Sony Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z to get Android 4.4.2 KitKat update in May

Last month, Sony started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z Ultra. The company also revealed that Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z will receive the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update by mid-Q2 i.e., in May or June this year. Now, Sony has updated its product pages confirming the update schedule for the above mentioned devices.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Tablet Z now rolling out

Sony rolled out the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra last week, now the company has officially started rolling out the same update for more Xperia devices, smartphones and tablets, which include Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z. The update is rolling out over-the-air and will reach your smartphone soon.

Sony rolling out Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for Sony Xperia Tablet Z LTE version and Xperia ZR

After rolling out Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for Xperia Z and Xperia ZL, Sony is now rolling out the same update for Xperia Tablet Z LTE and Xperia ZR. Currently, the update is rolling out in selected countries. As per the report, Sony Xperia ZR Android 4.2.2 update is currently live in Russia, Germany, Denmark and Norway. It is expected to be available in more regions over the coming weeks. As usual, the update for both the devices are available via Sony PC Companion. 

Sony Xperia ZR Pre-Order Started in India for Rs. 29,990

Sony Xperia ZR is ready to debut in Indian Market Soon. The device has been spotted online for pre-order for a price tag of Rs. 29,990. Currently the device can be pre-ordered on Flipkart and Infibeam. As per there listing, the device will be Officially Launched in India in third week of June.

Sony has Officially Announced its all new Waterproof Smartphone today, dubbed as Sony Xperia ZR. Sony Xperia ZR came in news last month with some mid-level specs. The device looks a bit like Xperia ZL, but is Water & Dust Resistant. Xperia ZR can be dipped in water to depths of 1.5 meters (just under 5 feet) for upto 30 minutes.
