Samsung is getting a habit of launching a mini version of the flagship device and it soon intends on launching the Galaxy S5 Mini to follow up the launch of the Galaxy S5. The Galaxy S5 Mini will come with IP67 certification and this bit of news has been confirmed by Samsung New Zealand on its website (now removed).
In some warranty information, it was mentioned that the S5 Mini’s warranty will become void if it is submerged in water for more than 30 minutes and the same is true for the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4 Active as well. The Galaxy S5 Mini’s IP67 certification will cover device being submerged in 1 meter of water for more than 30 minutes.
As per previous rumours, the Galaxy S5 Mini will come with a 4.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, quad-core Snapdragon processor, 1.5GB RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UI on top, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 16GB internal storage with expandable using microSD card and a 2,100 mAh battery.
The S5 Mini is also reported to come with IR blaster. No information is available on whether the S5 Mini will sport a heart rate sensor or fingerprint scanner or both. Pricing and availability details are yet unknown, but according to earlier reports, the Galaxy S5 Mini will be launched sometime in June, with S5 Zoom (aka Galaxy K) on April 29th in Singapore.
