This year in January at CES, Samsung showcased few prototypes of Samsung curved screen smartphones, where one prototype caught many people eye. That smartphone (image below), featured a part of the display wrapped around the screen. If report released by Bloomberg are believed to be true, then we might actually see this type of Samsung Galaxy smartphone next year.
The device is reported to use the updated version of Samsung's Youm technology, which is currently featured in the Samsung Galaxy Round.
It is unclear whether Samsung will make a new Galaxy family for this smartphone, or will add it in the Galaxy S or Galaxy Note family. Bloomberg also reports that, Samsung will release this smartphone sometime in the second-half of 2014.
In addition to the news, Samsung has filed a patent application on USPTO website, which shows a smartphone with three-sided display. This patent was originally filed this year in May and published yesterday. The patent images shows a smartphone with wrapped around display along with its use-cases. You can have a look at few of them below. Head over to the source link for more images.
