Micromax has officially launched a new mid-range Android smartphone in India today. Dubbed as Micromax Canvas MAd, the smartphone rewards users with money for watching advertisements. The smartphone was leaked last week, and today Micromax has finally made it official. The Canvas MAd comes in two colours, black and white and is available across the country for Rs. 8,490.
Talking about the MAd about Ads feature first, as mentioned above, the smartphone comes with an in-built app (called MAd) which pays you for watching advertisements.
You have to first register on the app, and then you will be able to watch advertisements, which will help you earn some points. These points are then converted into real world money that can be used to pay postpaid mobile bills or get prepaid balance credits.
Specifications-wise, the Canvas MAd comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, 1.2GHz quad-core Broadcom BCM23550 processor, Vidcore IV GPU, 512MB RAM and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with dual-SIM support.
The smartphone also comes with a 5MP AF rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front facing camera, 4GB internal storage with up to 32GB expandable using microSD card and 1,800 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 3G support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
