This is how Android looks on Nokia, to come with Android 4.4.1 KitKat, Snapdragon processor and 5MP camera
@evleaks leaked the first press render of rumoured Android powered Nokia smartphone codenamed Nokia Normandy last year in December. After that leak, the smartphone was on high rise, and then fortnight after evleaks revealed another press image of the smartphone, showing multiple colour options. Today, evleaks has shared a new image of Nokia Normandy, which gives us even more details on the colourful phone and its Android-based software.
In addition to the press images, some screenshots said to be taken from Nokia Normandy has been leaked online. The screenshot reveals the specifications of Normandy.
The image (above) shared by evleaks shows the interface of Nokia Normandy. The user interface depicted in the renders doesn't look like any version of Android that we've seen to date. This lines up with previous reports that suggested that Nokia would load a heavily-customized version of Android onto Normandy.
The image shows the lock screen and a Viber & Skype splash screen. The status bar shows white icons along with two SIM cards, indicating that Normandy will come with dual-SIM support.
It should be noted that, these press renders have been made for Indian market, as it consists of those Indian names (Ashima Banerjee and Shalni Kapoor). This suggest that Nokia will surely launch the Normandy in India after it is announced officially. It is also possible that Nokia will announce the Normandy officially in front of the world in India on March 25th, the date shown on the image.
In addition to the news, some screenshots said to be taken out from Nokia Normandy has appeared online, which reveals some of its specs. The image shows that Normandy was taken through AnTuTu test and sports the model number A110 (no, we are not talking about the Canvas 2).
Nokia A110 is reported to come with a 4-inch FWVGA (854x480p) display, running on Android 4.4.1 Kitkat and 5MP rear camera. The image also reveals the hardware platform characterized by a unidentified Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, since several details of the image have been obscured.
As per previous reports, the Normandy will come with quad-core Snapdragon 200 chipset (Cortex-A5 with Adreno 203 or Cortext-A7 with Adreno 302).
The smartphone is reported to arrive this year at MWC in February. No more details are available with us currently, but as the leaks have just started flowing, expect to hear more about the Normandy in the coming weeks. Note that the news is not yet confirmed, so take the whole story with a huge pinch of salt.
