Micromax launched the first Canvas Doodle smartphone back in May 2013 featuring 5.3-inch display. Moving forward in August 2013, Micromax launched the successor of Canvas Doodle, dubbed as Canvas Doodle 2 featuring 5.7-inch display. Now, Micromax is all set to announce the Canvas Doodle 3, which is not the successor of neither Doodle nor of Doodle 2. Instead its a new budget-Android smartphone from Micromax.
Micromax Canvas Doodle 3 hold the model number A102. The smartphone is expected to get priced around Rs. 10,000. According to Zauba (who tracks country's import and export), Micromax has already shipped 10,000 units of Canvas Doodle 3 in India. There is no word on when Micromax will launch the Doodle 3 in India, but we expect it to happen soon.
Micromax Canvas Doodle 3 will come with a magnetic flip cover, which will function the same way Samsung's S View cover does. As per the press images, the Canvas Doodle 3 will have its volume rockers and power buttons on the right side of the device with speakers on the rear.
Micromax will launch the Doodle 3 in two colours, Blue and White. The smartphone will come pre-loaded with apps like Twitter, Whatsapp and Facebook along with Big Flix and M! Doodle apps.
On the specifications front, Micromax Canvas Doodle 3 will come with a 6-inch High Brightness FWVGA display, 1.3GHz dual-core processor (vendor unknown), 1GB RAM and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The smartphone will also come with a 5MP auto focus rear camera, 0.3MP (VGA) front facing camera, 4GB/8GB internal storage with up to 32GB expandable using microSD card and 2,500 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and GPS.
