Samsung is preparing a high end version of the Galaxy S5 is a news that has been lingering around for a while. Now as it turns out, the premium version of the device which will be called the Galaxy S5 Prime has been spotted on Zauba, which is an Indian import/export website. Samsung has been known to ship devices to India for testing and the S5 Prime might be here for the same as well.
As per the Zauba website, the SM-G906K has been listed as the one which has been shipped in the country for research and development. Four (4) units of the device have touched down on Indian shores and they have been valued at Rs. 30,527 each which translates into ~$500.
The GFX benchmarking website also played host to a device with the model number SM-906S which had some really high end specs. The rumour has it that the SM-G906 is essentially the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime. According to GFXBench listing, the Samsung SM-G906S features a 5.2-inch Quad-HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display, 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, Adreno 420 GPU, 3GB RAM and Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
Other specifications listed include a 16MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front facing camera and 32GB internal storage. Looking at the specs sheet, it is quite confirmed that Samsung is working on a new premium line up. Samsung is expected to make an announcement regarding the device next month.
