Huawei Ascend P7 with 5-inch FHD display, 8MP front camera, Group Selfie feature officially announced

China-based Huawei has finally unwrapped its new flagship model dubbed as Huawei Ascend P7 at an event held in Paris, France on May 7th. The smartphone is the successor of the last year announced Ascend P6 and comes with improvements such as better display and upgrades in the design and camera segments. According to Huawei, the Ascend P7 will come white, black and pink colours and will be available in China, UK, France, Spain, Hong Kong and more countries from May for €449 (~Rs. 37,000).

China-based Huawei has finally unwrapped its new flagship model dubbed as Huawei Ascend P7 at an event held in Paris, France on May 7th. The smartphone is the successor of the last year announced Ascend P6 and comes with improvements such as better display and upgrades in the design and camera segments. According to Huawei, the Ascend P7 will come white, black and pink colours and will be available in China, UK, France, Spain, Hong Kong and more countries from May for €449 (~Rs. 37,000).

Elaborating on the specs, the Ascend P7 features a 5-inch Full HD 1080p display that is layered with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. Also, rear panel of the phone features a seven stage surface treatment that is covered with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Under the hood, there is a proprietary HiSilicon Kirin 910T processor that houses a Cortex-A9 quad-core processor ticking at 1.8GHz speed, Mali-450 MP4 graphics and 2GB of RAM. Running on Android 4.4 KitKat, the Ascend P7 is layered with Huawei’s Emotion 2.3 UI with visual enhancements and new feature additions such as customizable lock screen and home screen, permission manager, redesigned Do Not Disturb mode, super-power saving engine and lots more.

To cater to the users’ storage needs, the handset comes with 16GB of internal storage capacity that can be extended further up to 32GB using a micro SD and there is a 2,500 mAh battery under the hood delivering up to 14 hours of talk time and 404 hours of standby time.

One of the major departments that Huawei has focused is the photography section in which the Ascend P7 is given a 13MP snapper at the rear with Sony BSI sensor, LED flash, 1080p video recording and voice activation.

Also, there is an impressive 8MP front-facing shooter with BSI sensor, 5-piece lens with IMAGESmart 2.0 software that packs 10 level auto-facial enhancement and wide angle photo shooting mode. This front-facing camera includes a special feature ‘groufie’ that takes panoramic group selfies. The smartphone is just 6.5mm thick and weights 124 grams. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/c, NFC and GPS.

It is said that the Huawei will be launching accessories such as TalkBand B1 smart wearable device, clamshell protective screen covers, portable batteries and colorful protective cases for the Ascend P7.
