Along with Sony Xperia Z2, Sony has also launched its first smartwear, the Sony Smartband in the Indian market. Sony Smartband was originally announced at the Consumer Electronics Show 2014 in January along with Xperia Z1 Compact. The Sony Smartband comes in wide-range of colours including black, white, purple, pink, yellow and more. Sony has priced the Smartband in India at Rs. 5,990.
Similar to Xperia Z2, the Smartband will also be available across the country starting from May 12th. Sony Smartband records your daily activities and can be connected to any Android smartphone running Android 4.4+ via Bluetooth, using Lifelog application.
Compatible smartphones include Sony Xperia Z2, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One (M8), LG G2 and Google Nexus 5, to name a few.
The Sony Smartband is waterproof, light and flexible and comes with a removable core unit. Pressing the Life Bookmark key on SmartBand, everything going on at that moment will be caught and remembered forever.
The band vibrates when a call, message or other notification comes. Users can also play, pause or skip tracks using Smartband. According to Sony, SmartBand can live up to 5 days without charging. Sony is offering the Smartband free with Xperia Z2 as an introductory offer.
