LG reported to launch G Watch 2 at IFA 2014 tradeshow next month
While it has been only a short while since the LG G Watch went on sale and so soon the South Korean tech firm appears to be gearing up to unleash the next generation smartwatch. According to a report by Korea Times, the LG G Watch 2 will be a serious game changer wearable device that will be shown off at the upcoming IFA 2014 tech show slated to happen between September 5th and September 10th in Berlin.
Going by this report, LG is prepping to release its next generation smartwatch in September and like its predecessor this one will also run on the Android Wear platform. Number of LG Group divisions, which include LG Display, LG Innok and LG Chem are working together for this smartwatch.
In addition, the G Watch 2 (final branding yet unknown) is speculated to arrive with an OLED display rather than a IPS LCD display, no word on whether it will have four corners or none. Also, it is said to include a Qualcomm processor, while there are rumors suggesting the use of LG’s Odin processors in future.
As per a LG official, the firm is approached by many authoritative watchmakers for strategic partnership and LG may show the watch to clients at the tech show next month in order to work on those collaborations.
Apart from these aspects, the LG G Watch 2 remains a mystery and we will get to see more details regarding the same only when it is announced at the IFA.
