Lastly, HTC has announced the launch of the ultimate selfie smartphone in the country. Dubbed as HTC Desire Eye, the smartphone comes with mind blowing 13MP front and rear cameras along with dual-LED flash. The Desire Eye comes in blue and white colours. HTC has not yet revealed the price of Desire Eye, but has announced that the phone will be available exclusively in India on Amazon.in sometime in November.
The Desire Eye comes with two camera centric applications which include Eye Experience that combines features including Split Capture and Crop Me In, and the latest iteration of Zoe video editing tool that can be integrated with the new HTC RE camera. The other features are Face Tracking, Screen Share, Face Fusion, Live Makeup, Auto Selfie, Voice Selfie and Photo Booth.
Talking about the specifications, HTC Desire Eye comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM and Android 4.4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense UI. The smartphone measures 151.7 x 73.8 x 8.5mm and weights 154 grams.
Other specifications include an 13MP rear camera with f/2.0, 28 mm lens and dual-LED flash, 13MP front facing camera with f/2.2, 22 mm lens and dual-LED flash, 16GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB with the help of a microSD card and 2,400 mAh battery. Connectivity features onboard are 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, NFC, DLNA and GPS with GLONASS.
The Desire Eye has dual front-facing stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers as in the other HTC smartphones. There are 3 microphones for enhanced background noise cancellation. Furthermore, the Desire Eye comes with IPX7 rating that makes it water and dust resistant.
