HTC Eye Experience and Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for HTC One (M8) now rolling out

After announcing the HTC Eye Experience last week along with Desire Eye smartphone for select HTC smartphones, the Taiwanese company has now started rolling out the Eye Experience update for the HTC One (M8) in select markets which include Europe. Other markets will receive the update shortly. Alongside Eye Experience, the update also brings Android 4.4.4 KitKat to the One (M8).

After announcing the HTC Eye Experience last week along with Desire Eye smartphone for select HTC smartphones, the Taiwanese company has now started rolling out the Eye Experience update for the HTC One (M8) in select markets which include Europe. Other markets will receive the update shortly. Alongside Eye Experience, the update also brings Android 4.4.4 KitKat to the One (M8).

The update weighs in at 252.01MB in size and brings new firmware version which is 3.28.401.6. As always, the update is rolling out over-the-air. You can manually check for the update by going to Setting > About Phone > Software Update.

The HTC Eye experience provided innovative enhancement for taking photos and making videos. Here are some of the features you can enjoy:


Face Tracking –  Track up to 4 faces during a video chat, and ensure that they stay within the camera's angle of view.
Split Capture – Record the action in front of you and yourself at the same time. Or, record the action first and then record a commentary.
Face Fusion – Using 2 photos such as your selfie and a photo of your favorite celebrity, try blending your look together.
Voice Selfie – Take a picture or video selfie by just saying “Cheese” or “Action”.
Live Makeup – Smoothen your skin before taking your selfie.
Photo Booth – Take 4 selfies and merge them into a single picture.
