Flipkart app for Android Wear smartwatches officially launched

The Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart has launched an application exclusive to the Android Wear platform. The Wishlist app is available on the smartwatches running on the Android Wear platform and the retailer becomes the first in the country to launch an Android Wear application.

For now, this application supports basic aspects such as viewing wish-lists and getting push notifications from main Flipkart app. Flipkart has announced that it will add more features to the application in future, like push out notifications on personalized offers, order status and price drops. Also, the application boasts of a new user interface, mode of payment choice, smart search and options to share with friends.

To get the app on your Android Wear powered smartwatch, just install the latest version of Flipkart app or update the existing on an Android based device and when connected to the Android Wear based smartwatch will install the app on the wearable device.

Flipkart has claimed that smartwatches that are sold exclusively via its portal such as Moto 360 and the ones from Garmin and Martian will be preloaded with the application.
