Xiaomi has officially launched the ultra-affordable Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime in the Indian market earlier this week. The Redmi 3S was originally launched in China back in June and after two months, the device has made its way to India. The device features mid-range specs and is priced very aggressively.
The key difference between Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime is the RAM, internal storage and fingerprint scanner. Xiaomi has priced the Redmi 3S in India at Rs. 6,999, whereas the Redmi 3S Prime will cost you Rs. 8,999.
The devices come in Dark Grey, Silver and Gold color options and will be initially available for purchase from Mi.com and Flipkart. The first device to go on sale is the Redmi 3S Prime, which will be available starting August 9th 12PM through open sale. This will be followed by sale of Redmi 3S starting August 16th.
Xiaomi Redmi 3S features a full metal magnesium alloy unibody design and infrared sensor on top. The device comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (4 x 1.2GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5GHz Cortex A53) processor with Adreno 505 GPU and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top.
The device supports hybrid dual-SIM slot (micro + nano/microSD) for connectivity and expandable storage. It measures 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5mm and weighs 144 grams.
