Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo on Wednesday officially took the wraps off the world's slimmest smartphone at an event held in China. Dubbed as Vivo X5 Max, the smartphone comes with a profile of just 4.75mm thickness, even slimmer than the Oppo R5 measuring 4.85mm. The X5 Max comes in Aurora White colour and is priced at 2998 Chinese Yuan, which is approx. $485.
According to Vivo, the X5 Max will be available for purchase in the Chinese market starting December 22nd. Unlike Oppo R5, Vivo X5 Max comes with support for 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone has stainless steel body with Yamaha YSS-205X digital surround signal processing chip and Hi-Fi 2.0 support from the phone's speaker.
Specifications-wise, Vivo X5 Max comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) processor, Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat with Funtouch OS 2.0 on top. The smartphone measures 153.90 x 78.00 x 4.75mm and comes with dual-SIM support, one for a microSIM and the other for nanoSIM cards, which if not needed can be used as a microSD card slot.
Other specifications include an 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front facing camera, 16GB internal storage with expandable upto 128GB using microSD card and 2,000 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG and GPS.
Vivo is all set to enter the Indian market soon. The smartphone manufacturer will be launching the newly announced X5 Max in the country on December 15th in a press event in Gurgaon.
