Sony announced the low-end Xperia E3 smartphone only in September, but so soon the vendor appears to be prepping its sequel. As per a leak from Poland, the Xperia E4 is likely to go official at the MWC 2015 and to hit the retailer shelves by the end of the first quarter of 2015. Also, the leak speculates that the Xperia E4 would be priced around $200.
Furthermore, the source goes on stating that Sony is working on two variants of the device and the E2105 will a single SIM model, whereas the E2115 will be the dual SIM one. Notably, the single SIM Xperia E4 has already been spotted in the database of Indonesian authority responsible for regulating the IT field.
In a related report again from Poland, the complete details of Xperia E4 have got leaked before its announcement. Well, by saying details we mean the specifications, benchmarks, camera samples and screenshots of the upcoming Sony smartphone.
When it comes to specifications, the report confirms the presence of a 5-inch qHD LCD display with a resolution 960 x 540 pixels and it is revealed that the screen render good viewing angles, contrast and color reproduction. Under its hood, there is said to be a 1.3GHz quad core MediaTek MT6582 SoC, Mali-400 MP4 GPU paired with 1GB of RAM. Notably, the device with such low end specs scores 17,857 in AnTuTu 5 benchmarks.
The device is claimed to arrive with Android 4.4.4 KitKat pre-installed and receive the v5.0 Lollipop update in the first half of the next year. It is likely to pack 8GB of native storage space of which only 3.8GB is user accessible. The other aspects as revealed by the leaked report include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, dual-SIM support and a 2,500 mAh battery.
For imaging, the Xperia E4 is said to boast of a 5MP primary camera with LED flash and support for FHD 1080p video recording along with 1.9MP front facing shooter. The camera samples show that there are some issues in the FHD mode, but they are certain as the device is still not official.
