Samsung is surfacing in the tech headlines as there are several leaks and speculations surrounding the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones. But that is not all. The vendor is also prepping the Galaxy Tab S 2 tablet that is said to be slimmer than the iPad Air 2. A recent SamMobile report has revealed the details pertaining to the specifications and features of the upcoming lineup of slates.
Going by the report, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 2 will arrive with 8-inch and 9.7-inch models with 4:3 aspect ratio. It is said that these panels will be Super AMOLED ones boasting screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, while previous generation models came with 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution.
The report goes on stating that these slates will be equipped with Exynos 7420 chipset with 64-bit processing ability and run on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box. The 8-inch model is said to boast of a 3,580 mAh battery, while the 9.7-inch one is claimed to pack a 5,870 mAh battery.
Other aspects that the report suggests include an 8MP main camera at their back and a 2.1MP front facer to handle the imaging requirements. It is likely to come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB default storage space that can be expanded by another 128GB using microSD. The upcoming Galaxy Tab S 2 are said to flaunt a metallic frame to give a premium look.
The 8-inch model has dimensions of 198.2×134.5×5.4 and the 9.7-inch model comes in at 237.1×168.8×5.4, and both are considerably light at 260g and 407g. Though the report does not reveal anything regarding the launch plans of these tablets, they are expected to be unveiled in mid-2015.
