OnePlus has been promoting the launch of OnePlus 2 since last month by revealing bits and bits of information of the smartphone. The company has created a lot of hype for the launch of the upcoming OnePlus 2 and had tried it's best to keep the OnePlus 2 as a secret. But hours before the official announcement, high-resolution live images of the OnePlus 2 has been surfaced online.

These live images of OnePlus 2 are posted by a beta tester in China on XDA forum. The images coincides with the images seen in the TENAA listing last week. According to the tester, OnePlus will launch two variants of OnePlus 2. One with Full HD display, 16GB storage and 3GB of RAM called the OnePlus 2 Lite and the other with Quad-HD display, 64GB storage and 4 gigs of RAM.

The images reveals the smartphone from all the angles. As you can see, there is a home button on the front of the phone, that will act as a fingerprint scanner, which according to the source is not very sensitive. The build quality of OnePlus 2 is good but the tester calls the device "ugly."

The smartphone has metal frame all around and removable back cover this time, with Sandstone Black finish as of the OnePlus One. Under the back cover hides dual-SIM slots and non-removable battery. The images also confirms USB Type-C port and laser auto focus on the back below the camera module. The camera is said to come with optical image stabilization (OIS).

The OnePlus 2 is said to come with an 5.5-inch Quad-HD display, v2.1 Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, Adreno 405 GPU, 4GB of RAM, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with OxygenOS on top, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front facing camera, 16GB / 64GB internal storage and 3,300mAh battery.
OnePlus will officially announce the OnePlus 2 in few hours in a virtual reality event at 7:00 PM PT (July 28th, 7:30 AM IST). This will be the first ever product launch to happen in VR. OnePlus has also released its official launch app for the OnePlus 2 in the Google Play Store. The app will let viewers watch the OnePlus 2 launch event in virtual reality or not, depending on the user's selection.
