In a very surprising move, Google has officially revealed the name of the next version of Android — Android 7.0 Nougat.

Google released Android N Developer Preview couple months back and now the search giant has officially announced the name of next major Android update.

Talking about the version number, there's no official announcement made yet But we are pretty sure that Nougat will be numbered Android 7.0.

  • Android 1.6 Donut
  • Android 2.0 - 2.1 Eclair
  • Android 2.2 Froyo

PS: "Nougat" is pronounced nu:ga and not nau:gat.
