Asus has started rolling out a major update for its latest Android Wear powered smartwatch, the Asus ZenWatch 3. Asus is also rolling out the December security update for the Asus ZenWatch 2.
The ZenWatch 3 was originally announced last year in August, and back in December 2016 Asus launched the ZenWatch 3 in the Indian market starting at Rs. 17,599. The ZenWatch 3 is now available in India via e-retailer Flipkart.
The update being rolled out to ZenWatch 3 is not the Android Wear 2.0 update, rather brings couple of new features and much-needed fixes. You can read the complete change-log of the update below:
Asus ZenWatch 3 at Rs. 17,599 is a perfect smartwatch with perfect hardware and software combination. To remind you, the ZenWatch 3 comes with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with 400 x 400 pixels resolution, 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass and 287ppi pixel density, Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, 512MB RAM and run on Android Wear OS.
The smartwatch is IP67 dust and water resistant and has 4GB internal storage. Connectivity and sensors include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, 6-axis (Gyroscope + Accelerometer) and Ambient light sensor. The device measures 45 x 45 x 9.95 - 10.75 mm and hosts 340mAh battery with HyperCharge (upto 60% charge in just 15 minutes).

- Fix security vulnerabilities ( Update to Dec 2016 of Android Security Bulletins )
- Improve the accuracy of algorithm.
- Improve the stability of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection.
- Remove charging/discharging notification message.
- Update translations in various languages.
- Support algorithm of falling detection (ZenWatch Manager companion app v3.2.0.161220 is needed).
- Support ECO mode setting in the ZenWatch 3.
- Support “Button setting” for user customization
- Add new themes for watch face of Aureole, Golden Era, Silver Ribbon, Ostra, Geometry, Signature, Cruise.
