LG’s Optimus G has been quite a success for the company, selling over 1 million units worldwide according to the Korean-based company. Naturally that success will give way to successive models, and the start of it seems to be the LG Optimus G Pro. Pulling away from the 4.7″ display of the Optimus G, the Optimus G Pro looks to be a direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Note II with a 5.5″ display.
Just about every other spec on it looks to one-up the Note II in some way or form as well. Inside you’ll find:
- 1.7GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor
- 2GB of RAM
- 32GB of internal storage
- Removable microSD card support
- LTE connectivity
- 13MP rear-facing camera
- 3140 mAh battery
The processor is likely the same found in the Nexus 4 and the Optimus G, which is a powerhouse compared to even the blazing fast quad-core Exynos found in the Note II. One thing that looks to be missing, however, is something to rival the S-Pen. If it’s there then LG certainly hasn’t made a big deal about it, and the S-Pen is something that truly sets the Note II apart and makes it more than just a “Huge Phone.” You’ll also find that the lower portion of the phone bares resemblance to Samsung’s phones, but with the capacitive buttons reversed (and in a sensible order). No word on whether or not this will make it out of Korea, but we’ll let you know if it does!
