Android 4.4.2 KitKat update now rolling out for LG Optimus G Pro in India

LG has started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Optimus G Pro in India. The Optimus G Pro (E988) was originally introduced last year running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and this is the first major update for the smartphone. The update is rolling out over-the-air (OTA) as well as via LG update tool for PC. The same is also rolling out in other Asian countries like Indonesia with Brazil to receive the update soon.

Android 4.4 KitKat update now rolling out to International LG G2 and Korean Optimus G Pro

LG has finally started rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the international LG G2. The update was first rolled out in Korea in late-December 2013 and then in the last week of February it was available for AT&T users. Now the international LG G2 has started getting the update. The update is available for download via OTA (over-the-air), no word on file size.

LG Optimus G Pro to get Android 4.4 KitKat update by the end of Q2 of 2014

LG may be one of the top 5 smartphone manufacturers globally but the same cannot be said about the company's Indian operations. It is over shadowed by the likes of Samsung and Micromax and one of the reasons why it has not become popular is the fact that it has an erratic software update schedule and at times it skips updates altogether, thus resulting in a poor user experience.

LG Optimus G Pro to get QuickWindow cover soon, along with some LG G2 features

With the launch of LG G2, the Korean manufacturer brought a new case for its smartphones, dubbed as QuickWindow cover. Currently the cover is only available for LG G2 and LG Gx, and according to a published report out of Italy, LG will soon be releasing a new QuickWindow cover that is designed exclusively for its Optimus G Pro phablet.

AT&T has launched a large amount of phones all at once. The largest carrier phone in America has launched four phones in a row, the biggest Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, along with LG Optimus G Pro with promised Moto X and HTC One Mini. All the four smartphones are now available at AT&T on a on-contract as well as off-contract.

LG Optimus G Pro now on pre-order in India for Rs. 38,990

The newly announced LG phablet, LG Optimus G Pro is now available in India for pre-order for Rs. 38,990 only, which is Rs. 3,510 less than the official pricing. The phablet is currently up for pre-order on flipkart in both Black and White colours. According to LG, the phablet will start shipping from next week and will be available to mortar retailers from 3rd week of July onwards. At the price of Rs. 38,990, Optimus G Pro will get a lot of attention.

LG Optimus G Pro Launched in India for Rs. 42,500

As rumoured and promised, LG has officially announced their this year flagship device, LG Optimus G Pro in India. The Optimus G Pro has been priced for Rs. 42,500 in India and is now available in flipkart for order for Rs. 38,990 only. The phablet will compete with Samsung's Galaxy Note 2, which is currently available in India for Rs. 37,500. LG Optimus G Pro was originally announced back in February at Mobile World Congress 2013. The phablet will be available in India in two colours, Black and White.

LG to Launch Optimus G Pro in India on 4th July (Update)

Korean manufacturer, LG, is planning to launch their this year flagship device, LG Optimus G Pro in India on 4th July in Delhi. The phablet was originally announced at Mobile World Congress this year. Last month, LG hosted a Tech Show event in India, where they confirmed the launch of Optimus G Pro in India in June or July following the price tag around Rs. 40,000. The smartphone will be available in only White and Black colours, and will have Galaxy Note II as its tough competitor.

LG Optimus G Pro Crosses 1 Million Mark, Coming Soon in India

LG has Officially announced that they have sold over 1 Million units of LG Optimus G Pro in its home country, South Korea. According to the press release issued by LG, it took them 4 months to achieve this milestone. The smartphone was introduced in Korean market back in mid February, and on an average over 8,000 units of Optimus G Pro units are sold every day, which push total sales to 1 million in just 4 months.

LG Optimus G Pro Officially Official on Korean Website

LG has made the LG Optimus G Pro Official on their Korean Website Today. The device was announced for the Korean market a few days ago, but all the details are now on their website. LG’s new flagship smartphone will have a 5.5 inch Full HD, 440 ppi display with a 1920 x 1080 Resolution. It will be powered by a 1.7GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon Processor and 2GB of RAM.

LG Confirms Optimus G Pro to have a 5.5-inch Full HD Display

LG’s Optimus G has been quite a success for the company, selling over 1 million units worldwide according to the Korean-based company.  Naturally that success will give way to successive models, and the start of it seems to be the LG Optimus G Pro.  Pulling away from the 4.7″ display of the Optimus G, the Optimus G Pro looks to be a direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Note II with a 5.5″ display.

We have seen some official details on the LG Optimus G Pro in the past. Those arrived a few weeks back and if you remember, they came by way of a wireless carrier NTT DoCoMo. Those details included some specs, however the images at the time were nothing more than a render. As of today, it appears as if an in-the-wild style image of the Optimus G Pro has surfaced.

LG Optimus G Pro Officially Announced in Japan

When the specs of the supposed LG Optimus G Pro leaked last week, Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo has announced the device as part of its DoCoMo Next 2013 Spring lineup, and the reality matches the leak quite well.

The LG Optimus G Pro will be following the trend of big and beautiful screens. It's another 5-inch 1080p display, and the bezel is razor thin. There is a faster 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro inside to push all those pixels, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage with a microSDXC card slot, and a massive 3000mAh battery to keep it all chugging along well into the night.

LG has also equipped this variant of its flagship with a 13MP camera. Judging purely on specs, the device looks amazing. The software side is a little questionable with Jelly Bean 4.1 on board and a fairly heavy skin. Keep in mind that this is just the Japanese version of the phone, and LG itself hasn't even spoken of it officially. NTT DoCoMo customers will be able to pick up the Optimus G Pro in early April. Availability in other countries will probably come in future announcements. At least we can all hope.

LG Optimus G Pro / G2 Specification & Features Leaked

Details on what’s shaping up to be LG’s new flagship Android smartphone, the LG Optimus G Pro, have leaked, hinting at an imminent release in Japan. Running a 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ7064 Processor with 2GB of RAM, according to Blog of Mobile, and in a choice of silver or black slimline casing, going by the slide sent to Engadget, the Optimus G Pro is expected to pack a 13MP Rear Camera.

Up front is a 5" Display running at 1920x1080 Resolution, topped by a 2.4MP Front Facing Camera for Video Calls. Inside is expected to be 32GB of storage and a 3,000 mAh Battery. The Optimus G Pro should use 4G LTE Networks as well as – for the Japanese Market, at least – include 1-Seg and NOTTV TV functionality.

Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi a/b/g/n (2.4GHz / 5GHz) and a copy of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean round out the Key Specs. The handset is said to be 139x70x10 mm & Weigh 160g, and will arrive in Japan as the L-04E ( presumably on NTT DoCoMo, which currently offers the Optimus G L-01E ).
