Today Morning LG has confirmed that they will be using Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 Processor on there next G-series smartphone. The press release didn't revealed any information regarding the smartphone, but it is clear that company is talking about LG Optimus G2, which has been leaked numerous of times.
"LG's G series device powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processors will redefine the smartphone experience through stunning performance, rich graphics and outstanding battery efficiency. Capable of carrier aggregation, the Snapdragon 800 processor is designed to allow LTE to be even faster by maximizing spectrum bandwidth to increase data speeds and reduce latency," LG quoted in press release.
"With a powerful combination of LG's core smartphone technologies and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, we are taking a significant step forward in the mobile experience," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "The result of this collaboration will in many ways be the industry's best smartphone by which all other devices will be measured."
"Fully tailored and tightly integrated with the entire next G series platform, the new, best-in-class Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor will help deliver blazing fast web browsing, eye-popping graphics, seamless connectivity as well as an unmatched multimedia experience," said Murthy Renduchintala, executive Vice President, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and co-president, Qualcomm mobile and computing.
LG Optimus G2 is expected to arrive in market later this year. As per previous rumours, Optimus G2 will be launched officially around August. The rumored specs of Optimus G2 include, 5.2-inch Full HD 1080p resolution display, given the fact that part of screen will be used for virtual buttons, the final usable display space will most likely be close to 5-inches only, 2.3GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Processor, Adreno 330 Graphics, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with LG's Customized UI, LTE-Advanced support, 13MP rear camera with 2.1MP front facing camera and 2GB RAM.
