The next generation Google Nexus 7 press shots have appeared online. These press renders gives us a clear look at this upcoming Nexus tablet, which seems to have seen quite some changes since the original Nexus 7. Google is all set to launch the Nexus 7 II on 24th July, 2013 in San Francisco, Calif. The event will be hosted by Android and Chrome Boss Sunder Pichai. The event will be live streamed on YouTube and we are expecting Google to announce the much awaited Nexus 7 II and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, the next Android version in that event.

As per the press renders, the rear part of the tablet is very much different from the original Nexus 7. The new Nexus 7 will have smoother matte back rather than leathery and grippy back texture as seen on its predecessor. It looks like the pics and video we saw few days ago were indeed real deal and not a prototype of the device.

In addition, the rear of Nexus 7 II will come with landscape oriented branding aka the Nexus logo has turned larger and vertical, rather than the dimpled surface branding seen on the old Nexus 7. There is also a presence of 5MP rear camera on the new tablet with new speaker grills on the top to match with the bottom one.

The front of the device is very much similar to the old Nexus 7, the only difference we can notice is the position of front camera. The old Nexus 7 features the front facing camera in the center, whereas the new Nexus 7 has the front camera situated at offset right a bit. The image also shows the device with big top and bottom bezels and a front notification light. There is also a SIM card slot present on the lower left of the rear part of the tablet. This would seem to indicate that Google will be launching the Nexus 7 II with mobile data out of the gate.

The important stuff which can be noticed in all the images in this post is that the time on the device clock is 4:30, which clearly points to Android 4.3 being the version at launch. AndroidPolice has also leaked dozens of press shots of upcoming Nexus 7 II which shows a new default Android 4.3 Nexus wallpaper which replaces the Android 4.2 wallpaper seen in the above picture by evleaks.
