110,000 Xiaomi Mi-3 sold out in 3 minutes, 330,000 smartphones in total in a few hours

Xiaomi's International Chief and previously VP of Android, Hugo Barra has revealed on twitter that, the company, has sold 330,000 smartphones and 50,000 set top boxes in a few hours on China Singles Day today, totalling RMB300 million (about $49.2 million) in sales.

Xiaomi's International Chief and previously VP of Android, Hugo Barra has revealed on twitter that, Xiaomi has sold 330,000 smartphones and 50,000 set top boxes in a few hours on China Singles Day today, totalling RMB300 million (about $49.2 million) in sales.

According to TechinAsia report, the Chinese manufacturer managed to sell all the Mi-3 stock in just three minutes. There were total of three smartphones on sale, Xiaomi Mi-3, the Mi-2S and the Hongmi, 110,000 units each, along with 50,000 set top boxes.

Singles day in China is a massive day for shopping, like, for example Diwali in India or Thanksgiving, in the US. The day, also known as the "Anti-Valentines" day, majorly consisting of singles from all around China having parties and such, spurs shopping of around 2 billion US dollars all over the country.
