Sony Xperia Z1 Compact with 4.3-inch HD display, Snapdragon 800 processor, 20.7MP rear camera officially announced at CES 2014

After so many leaks and rumours, Sony has officially took the wraps off the miniature version of Xperia Z1 in front of the world today at Consumer Electronic Show 2014 in Las Vegas. Called as Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, the smartphone has almost identical specs as the Xperia Z1. The Xperia Z1 Compact comes in range of colours, Lime, Black, White and Pink and will be available starting February 2014.

After so many leaks and rumours, Sony has officially took the wraps off the miniature version of Xperia Z1 in front of the world today at Consumer Electronic Show 2014 in Las Vegas. Called as Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, the smartphone has almost identical specs as the Xperia Z1. The Xperia Z1 Compact comes in range of colours, Lime, Black, White and Pink and will be available starting February 2014.

Specifications-wise, Sony Xperia Z1 Compact comes with a 4.3-inch HD IPS Triluminous display, 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (Android 4.4 KitKat update coming soon).

Sony Xperia Z1 CompactThe smartphone is 9.5mm thick and weighs 137 grams. It also comes with a 20.7MP rear camera with Sony G Lens and LED flash, 2MP front facing camera, 16GB internal storage with 64GB microSD card expansion and 2,300 mAh battery.

Connectivity series include NFC, A-GPS+GLONASS, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, microUSB 2.0 (MHL) and Bluetooth 4.0 LE. Similar to Xperia Z1, the Xperia Z1 Compact is also water and dust resistant.

Sony has also announced its first smartwear Sony SmartBand at CES alongside Xperia Z1 Compact. The Sony SmartBand comes in wide-range of colours, and lets you record your activities. 

Sony SmartBandThe SmartBand is waterproof, light and flexible and comes with a removable core unit. It can be connected to any Android smartphone via Bluetooth, using Lifelog application.

Pressing the Life Bookmark key on SmartBand, everything going on at that moment will be caught and remembered forever. The band vibrates when a call, message or other notification comes. Users can also play, pause or skip tracks using SmartBand. According to Sony, SmartBand can live up to 5 days without charging.
