Every now and then, a smartphone shows up on a benchmark test that reveals a few details about upcoming smartphones. This time around, two of HTC's mid-range smartphones have showed up on AnTuTu benchmarking test which reveal a few details about the company's future offerings. Let us talk about the smartphones.

HTC's octa-core smartphone

The first one is the HTC D616W that will come shod with MediaTek's MT6592 chipset. It will get 8 Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.6 GHz and will team up with Mali-450 GPU and a 1GB RAM. It will come with a 5-inch HD 720p screen and will run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Joining them will be an 8MP rear snapper and a 2MP front camera. It will also come with merely 4GB of internal storage which will be available for expansion via a microSD card by 32GB in all likelihood.

The second phone that has showed up is the D516W and will slot below the D616W. Powering it will be a Snapdragon MSM8610 chipset with a 1.2 GHz quad core CPU and Adreno 302/305 GPU. 768MB of RAM will be present for multitasking. It will run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and will have internal storage capacity of 2GB.

The screen will feature a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels but the screen size is unsure. The imaging department will be taken care of by a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front snapper. The AnTuTu team has showcased both the devices on a chart in which the Adreno GPU stands its ground against the Mali-450 GPU courtesy of the screen resolution but the CPU is way behind the octa core processor.
