HTC One getting Android 4.4.2 KitKat update in Canada, Sprint's HTC One KitKat update also available

Earlier this week HTC America president Jason Mackenzie said that there will be a delay of one to two week in pushing out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update to the HTC One in the U.S. and Canada, however it appears that some Canadian users have just managed to make that deadline. According to Mobile Syrup, HTC One owners in Canada are getting updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

The update is currently rolling out to the Canadian HTC Ones on Rogers, Bell, Virgin, TELUS, SaskTel and WIND. The update is 585.44MB in size, bringing devices up to Android 4.4.2 KitKat and HTC Sense 5.5.

You can manually check for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > Software update. The update brings new firmware version 4.19.631.9 and contains important enhancements and bug fixes, including:
  • Android 4.4.2 KitKat
  • HTC Sense 5.5 UI
  • Cloud Print Service
  • Security enhancements
  • New Bluetooth profiles to support more media interactions
In related to the news, Android 4.4.2 KitKat and HTC Sense 5.5 update for Sprint's HTC One can now be pulled down directly starting today. No official change log is available, but it won't be different than the update that has been on the unlocked, European and Canadian phones.
