HTC unveiled the One last year in February at an press event in NYC. This year, the company is rumoured to announce the successor of One at MWC 2014 in Barcelona. The smartphone is codenamed HTC M8 and is reported to come with a dual-Ultra Pixel camera and fingerprint scanner. Now according to XDA TV producer and moderator Shen Ye, the upcoming HTC M8 may be released with 4 colours at launch.
In addition, the HTC One 2 and One 2 Dual SIM are recently found listed on a French government website. And also, according to prolific leaker @evleaks, the regular HTC M8 will be followed by M8 mini.
Starting first with the colours, Shen Ye is reporting that HTC may announce the M8 aka One 2 or call it HTC One+ in four colour versions at launch, these includes black (#414141), red (# cc0000), blue (# 33b5e5) and grey (#bebebe). These four colours are not similar to those of the original HTC One.
Coming to Evleaks, according to this tweet, HTC is planning to launch the mini version of HTC M8 alongside the original HTC M8 this year. The regular HTC M8 holds the model number "0P6B", whereas the HTC M8 mini is the "0P8B".
If you remember, long back in November 2013, the HTC M8 appeared in AnTuTu benchmark test as the HTC 0P6B120, which means the full model number of M8 mini could be HTC 0P8B120. The leaker has not revealed any more details about the smartphones.
Lastly, a listing of HTC One 2 and the HTC One 2 Dual SIM has been discovered on New Caledonia's Office of Posts and Telecommunications website recently. The website only reveals that both the smartphones have 3G connectivity (900/2100 MHz). It is unclear, what does New Caledonia have to do with the smartphones.
The website has not only listed the One 2 and One 2 Dual SIM, but every other HTC mobile phone ever made. The names might be just placeholders, since the official name is not yet known. But, if the listing is indeed true, then the upcoming HTC M8 will be called as HTC One 2 and will have a mini and dual SIM version at the launch.
To remind you, HTC One Two is rumoured to come with a 5-inch Full HD or Quad-HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 2GB RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 6.0, 6MP or 8MP UltraPixel camera with double lens, 2.1MP front facing camera, 2,900 mAh battery, microSD card slot, fingerprint scanner and NFC support.
The smartphone is expected to debut at Mobile World Congress (MWC) next month in Barcelona.
