HTC is planning to launch the next generation Butterfly device in the coming months and the device has just had its press render leaked through a twitter handle @LlabTooFeR which has quite a good record when it comes to HTC related leaks. So the picture can very well be trusted. The device has been codenamed B2. HTC is planning to launch the next generation Butterfly device in the coming months and the device has had its details and press render leaked through twitter handles @LlabTooFeR and @evleaks. Both the sources has quite a good record when it comes to HTC related leaks. So the picture can very well be trusted. The device has been codenamed B2.

HTC Butterfly 2

The smartphone won’t see a full-fledged global launch but will instead be launched in a few selected markets like Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. India might get it too seeing the fact that Butterfly wasn't popular in its first generation and HTC might want to change that.

The HTC Butterfly 2 or whatever it will be named in final will feature a plastic body with a glossy finish. The smartphone will come with stereo speakers on the front of the device like its elder sibling HTC One (M8). It will resemble the first generation Butterfly in terms of looks.

It will be slotted slightly below the HTC One (M8) and will share its specifications closely with it. It will come with a 5.0-inch Full HD display, 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.4.2 with Sense 6.0 UI, 16GB of internal storage with microSD card slot. It won’t get the dual camera unit in all likelihood to keep a difference in the two.

HTC has got things just right with the launch of the HTC One (M8) at the right time and at the right price. Now it is trying to extend the same to its other sub-brands too. Expect it to cost about Rs 6,000-7,000 less than the HTC One (M8) if and when it launches in India.
