The lines between smartphones and tablets have blurred these days and even the 6-inch mark has been breached with ease in the phablet department. Samsung is planning to launch a new small Android tablet soon which will come with a 6.2-inch screen size and is expected to be a one of its kind device. There are phablets with similar screen sizes on sale but this one will come devoid of a SIM card slot.
Holding the model number Samsung SM-T255, the tablet has been spotted on the GFX benchmarking website. According to the listing, the screen of the tablet will have a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Its model number is in sync with other tablets from Samsung so it will surely be a tablet. This will create a new segment of small Android tablets and it remains to be seen if other manufacturers follow it.
The tablet is expected to powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 1.5GB of RAM and will run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, indicating that it will be a mid-range tablet. The internal storage will stand at 16GB. At the back will be an 8MP camera and the front snapper will be a 1.8MP unit.
NFC, GPS and Wi-Fi support will be taking care of your connectivity needs. There is no information regarding the pricing and availability of the device but it is expected to be announced soon.
