Xiaomi reported to partner with Flipkart to launch smartphones in India

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is all set to enter India and it has tied up with Flipkart for the launch of its devices. The launch of the company’s India operations was expected in October but it looks like that it will happen in July as per the latest reports. Xiaomi usually sells devices through its own online retail stores but seeing the fact that Flipkart has a pretty wide reach in the country, Xiaomi has decided to go this way.

Xiaomi Mi3

The company will be launching two smartphones initially between mid-july and mid-august. Xiaomi will be importing the devices and Flipkart will be selling them for it. The first smartphones to launch from its stable will be the entry-level Xiaomi Redmi and the flagship Mi3.

According to BGR India, Xiaomi will price the Redmi at around Rs. 10,000 and Mi3 would cost around Rs. 15,000. It will also launch range of accessories in which the highlight will be a 10,400 mAh portable charger.

Talking about the specifications, Xiaomi Redmi comes with a 4.7 inch HD IPS display, 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor, 1GB RAM, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Xiaomi’s MIUI V5, 4GB internal memory with expandable up to 32GB using microSD card, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front facing camera and 2,000 mAh battery.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi3 comes with a 5-inch Full HD IPS display, 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974AB) processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Other specifications include 16GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front facing camera and 3,050 mAh battery.
