The Android Wear platform has
triggered many tech manufacturers to come up with smartwatches. While two such
Android Wear based smartwatches are available for sale already, it appears like
HTC is also planning to enter this wearable device market. There are only three smartwatches based on Android Wear official, which include LG's G Watch, Samsung's Gear Live and Motorola's Moto 360.
According to a render revealed by
the entrusted Twitter leaker @evleaks, the alleged HTC Android Wear smartwatch
will have a square design, again. Reportedly, the hardware of the device is a 100% faithful reproduction while the skin that appears similar to Sense UI is not real and just a placeholder.
From the render, it becomes clear
that this Android Wear smartwatch from HTC is not too different from the LG G
Watch and Samsung Gear Live. However, it appears like this alleged smartwatch
in question appears to feature a metal wristband while the other such devices
mentioned above feature plastic or rubbed bands.
Beside the leak of the
render, the other details on the possible specifications or features and the
availability or pricing of the Android Wear based HTC smartwatch remain unknown. Going by
the previous rumors, the Taiwanese tech firm is in plans to launch several
wearable devices by the end this year and it is believed to cost around $200.
