XOLO to launch Play 8X-1000 with HIVE UI in the first week of August
India based vendor XOLO has started coming up with teasers regarding their HIVE UI since last month. This week, the firm has taken it on their Facebook page (now removed) to claim that their next smartphone dubbed XOLO Play 8X-1000 will be launched with the HIVE UI in the first week of August. It is claimed that this device will be the first smartphone that will arrive with its UI and the same will be ported to the other XOLO devices that will be launched in future.
Going by the previous rumors, the XOLO Play 8X-1000 will come fitted with a 5-inch HD display layered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The raw hardware specs of the handset include an octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM for efficient multi-tasking.
Talking about the HIVE UI, it is based on Android 4.4 KitKat and will arrive with a new drop-down quick settings screen featuring circular controls to control the volume levels, adjust the brightness and set the screen timeout.
The screen of HIVE UI will include easy control switches to switch between the SIM cards for calls and messages. The UI is said to feature a new lock screen that displays notification icons for missed calls, messages and email. These notifications will be displayed on a see-through widget right on the home screen.
The latest HIVE UI is also said to include a Media Center with last.fm integration for suggestions based on the music you are listening, YouTube integration for accessing songs by trending artists, Dolby DTS with equalizer and new Contacts Book with access to all the conversations related to a contact in a single thread. It will also arrive with custom themes that will change the look completely and a customizable app drawer.
