HTC has officially took the wraps off the successor of HTC Butterfly. Dubbed as HTC Butterfly 2, the smartphone is the South Asian variant of the newly introduced HTC J Butterfly. The HTC Butterfly 2 comes in white, blue and red colours and will go on sale in Taiwan starting September 2nd. According to HTC, the smartphone will be available in Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand later this year.
Talking about the specifications, HTC Butterfly 2 comes with a 5.0-inch Full HD Super LCD 3 display, 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 6.0 UI. The smartphone is 9.9mm thick and weights 151 grams.
Other specifications include an 13MP rear camera with depth sensor and dual-LED flash, 5MP front facing camera, 16GB / 32GB internal storage with expandable upto 128GB using microSD card and 2,700 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX enabled, DLNA, IR LED and NFC.
HTC Butterfly 2 comes with similar dual front facing speakers and is also water and dust resistant. The smartphone also comes bundled with exclusive JBL in-ear-headphones in Japan.
