HTC has silently announced a new variant of the Desire 820 smartphone in the Chinese market. Dubbed as HTC Desire 820s, the smartphone comes with 64-bit Octa-core MediaTek chipset rather than 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset found in Desire 820. Other than that, rest everything is similar to the Desire 820 smartphone.
There is no word on pricing and availability details yet and also whether HTC plans to release the Desire 820s in other markets. Expect to hear more from HTC in the coming days. In another news, HTC is said to be working on two new smartphones called the Desire 620 and Desire 816h.
On the specifications front, HTC Desire 820s comes with a 5.5-inch HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 1.7GHz Octa-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6752 processor, Mali-T760 GPU, 2GB RAM and Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Sense UI.
Other specifications include an 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 8MP front facing camera, 16GB internal storage with expandable upto 128GB using microSD card and 2,600 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, DLNA and GPS / GLONASS.
