Oppo N3 with 5.5-inch display, 16MP motorized rotating camera, fingerprint scanner announced

After a myriad of rumors and leaks, the Chinese manufacturer Oppo has finally announced its flagship smartphone, Oppo N3. The Oppo N3 is the successor of last year announced Oppo N1, which also features rotating camera. The device is priced at $649 without contract and will start retailing in 20 regions worldwide by the end of this year.

After a myriad of rumors and leaks, the Chinese manufacturer Oppo has finally announced its flagship smartphone, Oppo N3. The Oppo N3 is the successor of last year announced Oppo N1, which also features rotating camera. The device is priced at $649 without contract and will start retailing in 20 regions worldwide by the end of this year.

The key feature of N3 is its 16MP motorized rotating camera that can track the objects as they move. This snapper has a sensor size of 1/2.3-inch and pixel size of 1.34 micrometer and uses a Schneider Kreuznach certified lens. The N3’s camera can rotate up to 206 degrees. The Ultra image 2.0 provides features such as ultra macro mode, slow shutter, after focus, manual control and shooting in RAW. Moreover, this snapper is capable of recording 4K videos and it is fitted with dual LED flash as well.

The Oppo N3 is given a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels resulting in a pixel density of 400ppi. Powering the smartphone is a Snapdragon 801 processor housing a quad-core Krait 400 processor clocked at 2.3GHz with Adreno 330 GPU. This processor is supplemented by 2GB of RAM and a native storage capacity of 32GB that cannot be expanded.

The connectivity features onboard the Oppo flagship includes 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and USB OTG. Under its hood is a 3,000 mAh battery that comes with the VOOC rapid charging feature that can recharge the device from 0 percent to 75 percent in 30 minutes. Moreover, this VOOC charger is updated and is half the size of the old one.

On the software front, the Oppo N3 comes with Color OS 2.0 UI based on Android 4.4 KitKat. The device features a notification light below the screen and the company calls it Notification light 2.0. The O-Touch panel comes with a fingerprint scanner that will let users to protect their images for an authentication to access them and to unlock their smartphones securely.
