Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note in India earlier this year in July. Now, Xiaomi has officially announced that the Redmi Note will be available for purchase in the Indian market starting December 2nd. Similar to Mi3 and Redmi 1S, Xiaomi has also revised the price of Redmi Note, which will now retail for Rs. 8,999, rather than Rs. 9,999 as mentioned earlier.
The Redmi Note will be available exclusively from online retailer Flipkart like other Xiaomi products and would be a flash sale similar to Mi3 and Redmi 1S. According to Xiaomi, the registrations for the December 2nd sale will being on November 25th at 6PM.
In another news, Xiaomi has also announced the launch of 4G variant of Redmi Note in the country. Dubbed as Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, the smartphone comes with single-sim support, Android 4.4 KitKat and 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor rather than octa-core MediaTek one. Rest everything remains similar to Redmi Note.
Xiaomi has priced the Redmi Note 4G in the country at Rs. 9,999 and will be available starting second-half of December from Flipkart and also via Airtel Shops in 4G circles, as Redmi Note 4G supports Indian 4G LTE bands. Xiaomi notes that customers will need to register online on Airtel website before visiting Airtel Shops to purchase the device.
Specifications-wise, Xiaomi Redmi Note comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display, 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor, Mali-450 GPU, 2GB RAM and MIUI v5 based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The smartphone comes with dual-SIM support, and is 9.45mm thick and weights 199 grams.
Other specifications include an 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front facing camera, 8GB internal storage with upto 32GB expandable using microSD card and 3,100 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and A-GPS + GLONASS.
Lastly, Xiaomi has also revealed that the Xiaomi Mi4 will be launching in India early next year and not this year as mentioned earlier. The company also plans to launch Mi Band and 16,000 mAh Mi PowerBank in the country soon. No specific dates provided yet. So, stay tuned.
