The smartphone that brought the Android 4.4 KitKat in 2013 is now making rounds all over the tech media world as there are reports stating that the Nexus 5 production is stopped by the firm. A TechRadar report cites a Google spokesperson claiming that the Nexus 5 production has been discontinued.
While this statement triggered concerns regarding the availability of the model, Google let out a statement that made it clear to The Verge. According to the firm, the yesteryear Nexus model made by LG will continue to sell on Google Play Store and select retailers in Q1 2015, till the stocks last.
This announcement came as Google pulled the red and white versions of the Nexus 5, listing only the black variant of the device on sale. Soon, we can expect the Nexus 6 smartphone to be the only model for the Nexus loyalists.
Notably, Google rolled out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the Nexus 5 lately and the device took a fresh breath with the Material Design aspects and other new feature additions.
If you are in plans to acquire a Nexus 5, do it quickly without any delay as its stocks could get emptied anytime soon.
