Lava is in plans to introduce a sub-brand of XOLO smartphones that will be going on sale via the exclusive e-commerce portal that the firm is developing. As of now, Lava is the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the country and it is in plans to mimic the success achieved by the foreign rivals such as Xiaomi and Motorola that managed to sell their offerings only online.

LAVA

Notably, Lava Director and Co-Founder, Vishal Sehgal did not reveal the name of the new sub brand that will be launched but it is confirmed that the brand as well the e-commerce portal will be happening simultaneously.

If Lava launches the online portal and manages to sell its sub brand online only, it will be the second largest vendor based in the country after Micromax to sell online only models. Notably, such models have tasted enough success via online only models in the country. For instance, Micromax announced the launch of Yureka smartphone based on Cyanogen OS via Amazon India since early this month.

The executive further added that Lava is launching its own e-commerce portal in order to bring about price stability for its products in India. He added that they are not interested in the e-commerce for discounting and reducing the pricing and they are aiming to reach out to people who like to interact with the brand digitally.

Furthermore, it is claimed that this upcoming e-commerce portal will not only be involved in selling the devices, but it will also offer remote servicing of the devices and provide other customer support functions.

Notably, Lava is striving hard to replicate the success of Xiaomi that dethroned Samsung in its homeland China not only with the launch of the online only brand, but also in other ways. The firm already announced its own Android based UI and it is looking forward to pump in around Rs. 15 crore for the development of the same.
