HTC has confirmed that it will be launching its flagship device at an event held on March 1st during the pre MWC 2015 days in Barcelona. Recently, some details about the One (M9) Plus and mid-ranger Desire 626 got leaked online. In the meantime, the rumor mills are busily churning about the One (M9) also known as HTC Hima, that is allegedly the upcoming One (M8) sequel.

HTC One (M9) Prototype

Couple of days ago, a prototype of the HTC M9 leaked online suggesting the presence of a large camera sensor at the back of the device without Duo camera feature. A major difference between the M9 and M8 is that the new model appears to boast of thin side and bottom bezels. The HTC logo on the bottom bezel and speaker grills appear to have reduced in size and the front facer seems to be larger.

In a related report, the images of a case that appears to be made for the One (M9) flagship smartphone has been leaked and they match with the images of the prototype of the device. As Asian firm has made the case and it authenticates the removal of the Duo camera aspect with a second sensor. The case in the leaked image matches with the square shape of the primary camera and the inclusion of dual LED flash.

Coming to the smartphone, the case confirms that the power button on the alleged One (M9) will be on the right side below the volume rockers and the earphone jack and micro USB port will be at the bottom. HTC will also incorporate IR blaster on the One (M9) at the top.

In related to the news, some more images of the upcoming One (M9) has been leaked online by the good folks of Phandroid. These images gives us the clearest look of the phone till date. The prototype image leaked by Phandroid is similar to the one leaked by NWE. The images confirm that the new phone will come with power button on the right side below the volume rockers and a single square camera module than a round one.

Going by the previous rumors, the HTC One (M9) is likely to boast of a 5-inch or a 5.2-inch display with Full HD or Quad HD display and employ a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. It is claimed to boast of a 20.7MP main camera unit at its rear and a 13MP selfie focused front facer. The device is said to run on Android 5.0 Lollipop topped with Sense 7 UI.

Besides the rumors regarding the upcoming flagship smartphone One (M9) and One (M9) Plus, HTC is speculated to unveil a smartwatch as well. Notably, the vendor is long rumored to launch a wearable device and the leaked promo video by HTC in September 2014 suggested the same during the IFA 2014 tech show. But, HTC denied the same and no such wearable was announced by the firm. Also, there were reports that HTC scrapped the plan of launch a smartwatch due to heavy competition in the segment.

Now, a Bloomberg report citing a source with knowledge in this matter claims that HTC will be announcing a flagship smartphone and its first smartwatch. It is claimed that the devices will be linked to Under Armour Inc’s fitness services and HTC had already announced a partnership with the sports firm earlier this month. This partnership tipped that fitness related wearables will be unveiled sometime soon.

There is no word on which platform the upcoming HTC wearable will be running on, but it will likely be Google's Android Wear. On a side note, Forbes is reporting that the Taiwanese company will indeed be launching a fitness tracker and not a smartwatch as reported by Bloomberg.

Anyways, all these are just speculations and we need to wait until HTC announces its offerings at the MWC 2015 tech show on March 1st, 2015.
