On January 15, Xiaomi unveiled its flagship device called Mi Note as teased instead of the highly rumoured Mi 5 smartphone. The phablet is priced at 2,299 Chinese Yuan (approx. Rs 23,000) and it is packed with great specifications that make it a competitor to the expensive flagship smartphones available in the market.

Detailing on the technical specifications of the Mi Note, the phablet is fitted with a 5.7-inch Full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 386 pixels per inch. This screen features dynamic contrast pixel adjustment technology that enhances the contrast of darker regions to make the picture better.

The display is manufactured by Sharp/JDI and it results in 1400:1 contrast and 95 percent NTSC color gamut. Also, there is reading mode that minimizes short wavelength blue light that is responsible for additional eye strain. Also, the device features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on both the sides and 2.5D curved glass at the edges on the front and 3D glass with a more pronounced curve at the device’s back.

Under its hood, the Mi Note houses a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor that is supplemented with Adreno 330 graphics unit and 3GB of RAM for crunchy graphics and swift multitasking respectively. Furthermore, the Xiaomi flagship device comes in two variants – 16GB and 64GB native storage capacities that cannot be extended further as there is no microSD card slot onboard.

The imaging hardware of the Mi Note comprises of a 13MP primary snapper at its back with optical image stabilization and two tone flash. Also, there is a low light mode that will help users to adjust the intensity of flash based on the ambient light conditions. Up front, the Mi Note comes bestowed with a 4MP selfie snapper for video conferencing. There is 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi Direct and dual SIM functionality in the Xiaomi Mi Note for connectivity and a 3,000 mAh battery is incorporated under its hood to energize it.

The phone comes in black and white colours. When it comes to pricing, the 16GB variant of the Mi Note is priced at 2,299 Yuan and the 64GB model is priced at 2,799 Yuan. The handset is listed for pre-order in China from Tuesday and it debuts on shipping from January 27.
