Motorola has already updated the first and second generation Moto G smartphones along with second generation Moto X to the latest Android Lollipop update in the country. Now, Motorola has started testing the Lollipop update for Moto E in the country. Motorola has started sending out invitations for a Lollipop soak test updates to the users in India.
Motorola is sending emails to the participants of Moto E soak test to confirm their acceptance. The soak test OTA update is said to be rolled-out in the coming days and if everything goes well, then the final Android 5.0 Lollipop update for all Moto E users will be rolled out.
Soak tests is only available for a limited number of participants, so that if there is a problem with the update, then only a few units are affected making things easier to fix. These are preliminary update to test whether the update is working perfectly. If any major problem is found then Motorola rolls out second soak test and then releases to all users.
Similar to Moto G and Moto X (2nd Gen), Moto E is also expected to get directly updated to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
