Motorola had officially announced the launch of the next generation Moto E smartphone couple of months back. Dubbed as Moto E (2nd Gen), the smartphone comes with bigger screen, better processor, improved camera and more. The Moto E (2nd Gen) comes in black and white colours and is already available in more than 50 countries including India.
The new Moto E comes in two variants, 3G and 4G LTE. Motorola India has launched both the 3G and LTE variants of Moto E (2nd Gen) in the country recently. The difference in both the variants is not only limited to connectivity, but can also be found in processor used.
Like other Motorola smartphones, the new Moto E also comes with water repellent coating. Motorola is also selling colourful Bands and Grip Shells for the new Moto E, to allow design customization and to add durability to the phone respectively.
Motorola India has launched the dual-SIM 3G Moto E (2nd Gen) in India for Rs. 6,999. On the other hand, the dual-SIM 4G Moto E (2nd Gen) is priced at Rs. 7,999. Like other Motorola smartphones, the new Moto E is also available exclusively from online retailer Flipkart.
On the specifications front, Moto E (2nd Gen) comes with a 4.5-inch qHD display with resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU (4G LTE) / 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor with Adreno 302 GPU (3G), 1GB RAM and Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Other specifications include an 5MP rear camera, 0.3MP (VGA) front facing camera, 8GB internal storage with expandable memory using microSD card and 2,390 mAh battery. The new Moto E measures 129.9 x 66.8 x 5.2 – 12.3 mm and weights 145 grams. Connectivity series include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
