XOLO has officially took the wraps off its first smartphone under BLACK sub-brand, which is online-only brand of the company. The smartphones under XOLO's BLACK brand will be available exclusively via online retailer Flipkart only, similar to Xiaomi and Lenovo phones. The first device under this range is simply called XOLO Black and is priced at Rs. 12,999.
XOLO Black is exclusively available from Flipkart. As an introductory offer, XOLO is offering 1GB of free internet for 2 months per month for Vodafone customers along with unlimited songs on Vodafone Music for two months. Also, around 100 Vodafone stores will have XOLO Black for hands-on experience.
Talking of the specifications, XOLO Black comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display with One Glass Solution (OGS) technology and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection at front & rear side. The smartphone is powered by 1.5GHz 2nd gen 64-bit Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) processor with Adreno 405 GPU and 2 gigs of RAM.
On the software side, XOLO Black runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with HIVE Atlas UI on top. The new HIVE Atlas UI has features like Underground feature to store private apps and data securely, Reading mode that turns your display to black and white for a better reading experience and the Comet Browser with data and battery saving features.
The XOLO Black has a slim 7.3mm body which is stuffed with a 13MP rear camera with ChromaFlash that lets you retain original color and skin tone even in low-lighting conditions along with 2MP secondary rear camera for depth sensing and 5MP front facing shooter with LED flash for clicking better low-light selfies.
Other specifications include 16GB internal storage with expandable up to 32GB using microSD card, 3,200 mAh battery and notification LED on the power button itself. The smartphone comes with hybrid dual-SIM slot (micro + nano), in which second SIM slot can also be used as microSD card slot.
Connectivity features include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS + GLONASS and USB OTG.
