Lenovo P2 with 5.5-inch display, 5100mAh long lasting battery launching soon in India [January 11th]

Update (Jan 7, 2017): Lenovo has confirmed that it is launching the Lenovo P2 smartphone in India on January 11th. The upcoming Lenovo P2 smartphone will be available exclusively from Flipkart.

Earlier (Jan 3, 2017): Lenovo is soon going to launch a new mid-range smartphone in the Indian market. Called Lenovo P2, the smartphone was originally introduced back in September 2016 at IFA and comes with mammoth 5100 mAh battery. The device is an addition to company's P series of smartphones.

Lenovo revealed this news via a tweet by Lenovo India. The device comes in gold and gray color options. Pricing, availability and launch details of Lenovo P2 are yet to be disclosed.

Talking of specifications, Lenovo P2 features a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, powered by 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 GPU, 3GB/4GB RAM and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.


The device comes with metal body, dual-SIM support and has a fingerprint scanner on the front. Other specifications include 13MP rear camera by Sony with dual-tone LED flash, 5MP front-facing camera, 32GB/64GB internal storage with expandable memory using microSD card and as mentioned above, 5100mAh battery.

According to Lenovo, P2 comes with 24W charger for quick charging and can be used to charge other devices as well. Connectivity series include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and NFC support.

The device was launched in Europe in November 2016 starting at €249 (~ Rs. 17,700). We are expecting Lenovo to price the upcoming P2 starting at around Rs. 15,000.
