Being a market leader isn't that easy, neither it is easy for the flagship to hold the pole position for the march. Apart from that, only having a flagship isn't enough to claim for the spot and when you have a whole line-up of phones across the various price points and still continue to make out a potential bestseller, you call it nothing but the “S3” . The Samsung Galaxy SIII has got a lot of faces to turn up to but apart from the hereditary aesthetics, it has got enough under the hood to make it’s own way with the nomenclature marking the signature to be trusted.

So as they say, it all begins with rooting the phone to get along with the development process, which, in today's scenario is one of the key factors in determining the success of a handset. We have this tutorial up an on for you get your brand new phone rooted to ease out the enthusiast in you. So, as this is the first one for the device, anyways it’s going to be the traditional Odin method of flashing the ROM via the download mode.

Pre-Installation Tasks



  1. Back up all apps using ASTRO File Manager. You can get the APK files using ASTRO and later restore it. Rooted users can use Titanium Backup which also backs up data along with the apps.
  2. Back up all contacts to SD card.
  3. Backup SMS on Android.
  4. Backup call log on Android.
  5. Have minimum 60% charge on your phone else you might get stuck while the update process is running on your device.
  6. Remove any security or Anti-virus app if you have them installed.
  7. Enable USB Debugging. This can be don by Settings>Applications>Development and making sure that USB Debugging is checked.
  8. You must have KIES or Samsung Driver Installed on your PC.
  9. Make sure that this Method is Valid for Only GT-I9300 & GT-I9300T. If your model number has a suffix, it may not work, or if it is a totally different model, it will not work (may even brick) !

How to Install ClockworkMod Custom Recovery On Samsung Galaxy S3 -



Odin is a tool used to flash ROM's on Samsung phones and can also be used to flash the rooted Stock ROM, CWM & also to Root you Samsung Galaxy SIII.
  1. Download the Odin3-v1.85.zip - Here
  2. Download the CF-SGS3-CWM-v5.5-v1.5.zip - Here
  3. Extract Both the Downloaded Files.
  4. You will get a ".tar" zip file from "CF-SGS3-CWM-v5.5-v1.5.zip" file. DO NOT EXTRACT THAT   ".TAR"   ZIP FILE.
  5. Start Odin3-vX.X.exe
  6. Click the PDA button, and select CF-SGS3-CWM-v5.5-v1.5.tar
  7. Boot your phone into download mode. To do this, Switch Off your PhoneRemove the Battery & re-insert it Again. Press Volume Down + Power + Home button together. After this, press Volume Up button and you will enter into download mode.
  8. Connect your phone to the PC. The ID:Com section in Odin should turn yellow. If not, you need to check your drivers.
  9. Make Sure Re-Partition is NOT CHECKED.
  10. Click on Start button.
  11. Wait for the phone to reboot. Done [ If the odin takes more than 30 sec, then please do the Steps Again ].
If you've passed in all the steps mentioned above, you have just installed ClockworkMod Recovery on your phone. Now move on to Root your Samsung Galaxy S3 via CWM.

  1. Download the CWM-SuperSU-v0.99.zip file - Here
  2. Connect your Phone to PC via USB Cable.
  3. Copy the Downloaded File into Internal or External SD Card.
  4. Disconnect your Phone Now.
  5. Switch Off your phone & Remove the Battery for sometime & Re-insert it Again.
  6. After that Boot your phone into Recovery mode. To do this, Press Volume Up + Power + Home button together.
  7. Use your Volume Keys to Navigate up & Down & Home button to Select the Option.
  8. Now Select "Install Zip from SD Card" > After that "Choose Zip from Internal/External SD Card [ Depending where to had Copied the SuperUser File [ Step 3 ].
  9. Now select the "CWM-SuperSU-v0.99.zip" file from the SD Card List.
  10. Flash that File on the Next Screen.
  11. Done.
Now you have Successfully Got ClockworkMod Custom Recovery & Rooted your Samsung Galaxy S3.
