Samsung Galaxy S3 to get Android 4.4 KitKat update by March-end

There have been a slew of debates off late about the Galaxy S3 getting an upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat and what not, and Samsung seems to have spilled the beans regarding the same accidentally. As it turns out, it is a good news for the owners of Galaxy S3 as Samsung is expected to upgrade the smartphone finally to the latest flavour of Android 4.4 KitKat.

We reported in detail when Samsung had announced its list of devices getting Android 4.4 KitKat update but the same aroused a wave of strong reactions from the consumers as it skipped some devices which should have got the update. The Galaxy S3 was one of the main devices that was skipped from the list but a leaked document has suggested that the device will indeed be getting the update next month.

Samsung had recently released a list of its devices that will be getting the Android 4.4 KitKat update in the United States but there was no information about the international models. Now a blogger from Poland who got in touch with a local representative of the Korean manufacturer has released a list of the same.

Samsung announces Android 4.4 KitKat update schedule for 16 Galaxy devices in US

Samsung has just released its Android 4.4 KitKat roll out plans for US which includes the list of all the devices that will be getting the latest Android update in future. The roll out has started today in US. According to Samsung, the updates will continue over the coming months. The company has not revealed which devices will be the first to receive the KitKat update.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 to get Android 4.4 KitKat update by March-end

Samsung has always been known for the regular updates it provides its consumers with. The Korean manufacturer had started updating the Note 3 to the latest version of Android 4.4.2 KitKat last week. And now the good folks back at Android Geeks have mentioned that the yesteryear flagships, the Note 2 and S3 will be getting the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update in the last week of March.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S3 now rolling out in India

After such a long wait, Samsung has today finally started rolling out the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S3 in India. This update takes the smartphone directly to Android 4.3 from Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The update is rolling out over-the-air as well as via Samsung Kies PC software. As soon as the update is available for your device, you will be notified via an OTA notification.

Motorola has already started rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat for Moto X, HTC and Sony has shared their update plans, and LG and Samsung are yet to give their statement regarding this update. If newly leaked schedule is believed to be true, then Samsung will be updating its flagship smartphones soon to KitKat.

Samsung Galaxy S III Price Drops to Rs. 28,900

Samsung has cut the price of the Galaxy S III in India yet again. The phone got a price cut at the end of December. The Samsung Galaxy S III was launched in India in May at Rs. 43,180, and it got its first price cut to Rs. 34,900 back in September, once again in December to Rs. 31,900. It is now available for Rs. 28,900 after the recent price cut. No sign of price cut for the 32GB version of the Galaxy S III.
