One hundred million – that's a pretty massive number. And it's one that Samsung can now tout as a sales figure for the Galaxy S line as a whole. That's a combined number for the entire series: the Galaxy S, Galaxy S II & Galaxy S III & no other Galaxy phones, like the Note, are included.

Samsung Galaxy S Series Crosses 100 Million Sales

Samsung has announced their latest Galaxy S related milestone and this is the big 100 million mark. According to Samsung, global channel sales of the Galaxy S IIIGalaxy S II and Galaxy S have crossed the 100 million mark as of January 13, 2013. These details all come by way of a Samsung issued press release where they note that the Galaxy S III has crossed the 40 million mark.

Touching on the Galaxy S II and Galaxy S for a moment and we see that the Galaxy S II had 10 million in global channel sales in five months time and that the Galaxy S launched in June 2010 and saw 10 million in global channel sales in seven months time. Otherwise, the Galaxy S II has seen 40 million in total with the Galaxy S having seen 24 million in total.

And now here we are – 2.5 years and 100 million phones later – and Samsung has been clutch in putting Android on the map in a big way. The Galaxy S series could perhaps be some of the most influential Android phones of all time, with many other manufacturers scrambling to keep up, innovate, and compete with what's definitely Android's top-dog.

Samsung is currently selling over 190,000 units of the Galaxy S III each day, and with the Galaxy S IV rumored to be debuting sometime in May of this year, Samsung has some pretty big expectations to meet.
