After the announcement of Android 4.4 KitKat yesterday, its time for OEMs to start releasing their plans for the update. The Android 4.4 KitKat will hit Nexus 4, Nexus 7 (2012 & 2013) and Nexus 10 in the coming weeks, and HTC has officially confirmed that, the company will start rolling out the Android 4.4 update for HTC One in few weeks.
Whereas, the unlocked and developer model HTC One will be getting the Android 4.4 KitKat update within 30 days, and the carrier locked variants of HTC One in the United States will get the KitKat update within 90 days.
An HTC spokesperson said:
"We're all excited about Google's Halloween treat and plan on breaking off a piece of that KitKat bar for the HTC One. In North America, we'll deliver Android 4.4 with Sense 5.5 for the HTC One within 90 days, and the HTC One Max and the HTC One Mini will follow."
In related to the news, serial leaker @Evleaks is reporting that, HTC's next year flagship smartphone, codenamed HTC M8, will be the first HTC smartphone to come with HTC Sense 6.0. More details are yet to arrive.
